Sometimes it’s the very simple things that are the best, isn’t it? Crêpes are like that … Thin, buttery, crispy-edged goodness, soaking up favourite toppings and dripping onto hungry fingers. I love them with lemon and sugar, rolled up into a cigar and eaten whilst piping hot. But they’re also super delicious with homemade (by me or someone else!) raspberry jam.
There’s something about crêpes that takes me back to my seventies childhood, which is always a comfort and bundles up memories of beachy holidays and waking up in sandy beds to a chorus of seagulls … Sigh.
What are your crepe-y memories, dear readers?
ALSO … just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who reads here, whether you are a FREE or PAID subscriber. Every single one of you is so appreciated. It’s so nice to be writing with and for you … I’m a lucky duck.
xx pip
