The days are getting longer, aren’t they? And sunnier, some of the time. My little house fills with the afternoon sun which is proving brilliant during these slightly warmer days. The cats (Chippy and Bruno) are particularly enjoying that seasonal bonus. While I haven’t been able to get out for any walks due to illness, I’ve been very much liking watching the seasons change.
I’ve spotted a bunch of beautiful magnolias and camellias in my neighbourhood on drives to the shop. And the sunny hues of daffodils and wattle are beaming from some yards. It’s all very bolstering and excellent to know that soon enough everyone’s heating costs will go down and we can make some energy savings, even if for only a few air-con free months.
Today I thought I’d whack up this recipe for Creamy Soda Scones. I love a scone and these are super easy to whip up. They have a unique and delicious flavour and an excellently fluffy crumb, which is all you can ask for in a scone really.
Here’s hoping you get some fluffy crumbs in your life ASAP, dear reader. And that the seasonal changes - be they shifting into Spring like Australia and the southern places or into Autumn/Fall like those up north.
Very best wishes and squishes to you and your favourite people.

Creamy Soda Scones
I make a plain soda water version, because I found the lemonade ones a bit sweet. But this version sounds interesting. I guess it would impart a brown sugar taste. I'll have to get some creamy soda next time I'm out.
