We have a small Webber bbq! We love it & is a perfect small size to take along for picnics/camping trips too. I am going to take Reannon’s suggestion and put a pizza stone on my Christmas list!

We have a crappy old Bunnings lpg bbq. I love bbqs because it means I don’t have to cook the meat and there is less washing up, but I hate the greasy dirty looking thing and I have to think about something else while I’m eating lest it makes my stomach turn. My hubby is a lazy sod when it comes to cleaning. Don’t even get me started on that! Not much help really.

Also I’m shocked at how strong my feelings of sadness are at you leaving Pip. Weird I know

Cheers Kate

I am very sad that I am leaving too. It was totally unexpected and there is lots of family drama behind it. :( All pretty heartbreaking, but hopefully I can sneak back sometimes to stay in a holiday house somewhere by the sea and get my dose of Tassie.

Your BBQ sounds like a rotter. I recommend getting one you can deal with in the dishwasher, or somesuch. Do those exist?! x

Sorry, I am about to hog the comments section again!

I saved Joys Mac recipe too. How great does it look!

Isaac said the other day “remember when we used to buy Jamie’s focaccia mum? Why don’t you ever make any for us?” I should shouldn't I? What do you eat it with?

Now, as for bbq’s, we actually just bought one this past weekend. Ours was old & rusty & like you, every summer we say “we should bbq more. Let’s be bbq people.” Then we have like 3 BBQ’s. So. We bought a Webber q, family size, lpg gas because they were on sale. Tim cooked two lunches & a breakfast on it. I cooked a dinner in & Isaac cooked a dinner in it. Already more bbq’s eaten than the whole of last summer! I have a few friends with Webber’s & they all rave about how much they love them & how often they are used so that’s why we chose one. I’m excited because you can buy a pizza stone for it. I foresee lovely pizzas in my future. I am determined to be a better bbq cook by the end of summer!

So happy to hear you are better & almost ready to move xx

I love it that you are all over the comments. I feel lucky that you are. TELL US about the cleaning part of having a Weber? Is it easy? Is it not? Is it a rotter, like dear Kate's BBQ? x

So the cleaning is a bitch but I think a.maybe we are being too precious because it’s new b. All BBQs are annoying to clean.

Apparently there’s a specific Webber cleaning brush (I swear there’s a Webber something for EVERYTHING!) but I’m not sure if it’s legit useful or just a gimmick. So far everything we’ve cooked on it has been great! A few nights ago I cooked 15 chops, a heap of potatoes & some haloumi on it for dinner. The potatoes were EXCELLENT!

I got a small Webber "free" with Flybuys points a few years ago and LOVE it. My husband cant cook at all, but his job is to make sure it has a full gas bottle and the occasional clean! I love it because it means I can even cook a roast in Summer without heating up the kitchen. Also I can cook pork ribs or salmon without splattering fat all over the kitchen! Zucchini and potatoes fresh from the garden chargrill beautifully with a tiny brush of oil. It's brilliant!

We sold our giant barbecue because Pony built me a sauna in the spot LOL!!! Well she didn't build it herself but ya know... anyway omg I found a cast iron cauldron one on line, I used to have one in England and it lived in the boot of my car and I would whip it out on the beach often while waving an aubergine! They are so fantastic I highly recommend. And cheap as chips... I swear I can practically make a banquet on mine. Lovage darling, I'm just catching up with 1000000 e mails :-) xxx
